Been a long day
joel told me thank you for the blog and i had to go back and look at it
that made me happy
threw a fit over the officant bullshit
but that was the day before
and the blog was the day before our anniversary
we spent it getting the wedding license
it was a blast
and we were finally happy unabated
a lot of memories visited for parking and a marriage document, no action figure, but
forced to validate our parking at the fremont street casino, so got some crappy light shows while listening to al green shopping for my wedding jewelry and for the first time EVER buying those tacky as hell Tall plastic frozen daquiris that seem to prelude every bad scene on the strip -
we giggle like hell getting lost and getting a high five from the speed freak flyer boy because we already had a location and vendors and then taking his advice that we should take our big ass drinks inside or they probably wouldn't let us get a license-
taking his advice we left them outside
got the license by a chick doing her first one
looking at the calendar date glaring us in the face of the day we first met 2 years ago
we got our plastic glasses and took them home - joel says its the biggest straw he's ever seen
i said we now have our champagne glasses
======
it was a nice moment
=======
the rest however -
still think chicks are stupid and crazy
and i will cry all the way it keeps taking me to the bank
----
i am glad i got to remember that again -
it was a little more descriptive than the bachelorette party plans i found on a piece of ripped in half blux ox letterhead reading:
"-whip-Ron-tassle-lime
- Aladdin - S&M
- Courtney get laid
-Megan - find a man -
that fuckin' drama
-tie up Deven"
well, that sums it up

Ha! I just found that I drafted a rectifying blog on April 20th because I had broken my own cardinal blogger code and missed a month without a post.
Oh well it was there, on 4/20 - which means nothing if that's not your birthday or you don't smoke weed.
I am glad I'm here and not there for a re-entry post.
I wanted to take a break from writing the ceremony and didn't feel like cleaning, so the popping back in without a planned agenda feels pretty good.
Many strange and unfortunate events have come and gone and still are with the planning and within the lives of some around me (and time consumingly faked by many others that have chosen to not be), but things still go on.
After a long hard road of misogynistic bridal hell, I was amazed when I was struck by the accidental discovery of what marriage actually meant to me.
Funnily enough, I really expected just to let it drive me nuts, but, out of nowhere during another pinnacle intensity of exactly why is all of this automatically my job, I found it. And true to this love's fashion, it explained why everything else
had happened too.
What a bargain!
I still don't recommend marriage to anyone, whether you believe in it or not. For any smart woman, it's not a fun journey. For any stupid one, I hope the receipt was just as cute as your laced dignity when it was lost. For the men, remember that the commitment isn't a gift, it's dumping the weight for someone else to decorate.
Take it from me, self proclaimed forever single, and advocate of the equal responsiblities that elopement offers, if you must have a flippin' wedding,
help.
JOel and I are babes in the woods and have slowly been able to sort through the strange situations that weddings bring about, but I have learned above all -
we are lucky that we have each other through something this large
I learned early that this would be a lonely venture without Joel's help and support
every woman I know has uttered the infamous 'if you need any help...'
and followed them with unreturned voicemails.
it was hard to swallow at first - though just another banner of proof that my friendship isn't weighed on scales with the same depth, accuracy, or worth
again just another reason to loathe women - even if I were drooling with fairy princess nuptial bliss with plastic figurines on top - i'd be wiping it up myself after I paid the vendor -
my girls let me down - i know who's busy, i know who's not, i know that i have moved passed the point of caring
joel and i by default have clung to each other to make this right for us
we have conquered every circumstance to get here
and we are going to enjoy every second of what we worked for
and you know what -
so, i did change my ethic and tied the knot
NO big surprise that I would do it in Las Vegas
BUT never did I expect to be told my wedding had been announced by a reviewer in the theatre section of the Las Vegas Review-Journal.
Well, girls, for all the protest I will still spout, joel and i know that what we have deserves all the props we can give it
with or without a nationally publicized entertainment listing and acting credit.
with each detail that is crossed off - we grow more excited to the day all of our friends will be here to have some fun on us -
i must go
but keep my chin up as the countdown speeds because it means we'll soon met again
and ooooh, what a time
will be had
take care, fuckers
